We hare using one Nupoint Voice Mail server and three Embedded voice mail servers on the Mitel 3300. Our email server went down. How do I send out a broadcast message via the phones that the email server is down.I would like to send it out to all four sites.
You can set up Message of the Day on NuPoint which is played to all users the next time they log in. Not sure what you can do on the embedded, might have to log into the operator, manager, or administrator mailbox on each one to do a MOTD or broadcast.
Record the greeting in the administrators mailbox 9999 (typically)
Funny story.
When I left a previous job I was at the bar and had consumed a few when a practical joke idea dawned on me. I realized that they probably wouldn't have changed the passcode to the admin mb and decided to record drunken me talking for 5 minutes or so. The interesting bit on a nupoint is the message of the day MUST BE HEARD before a user can access their mailbox. There is no way around it. Hanging up and logging in again will simply start it over again. As an added bonus, it will try and play again the next time you log in as well, although the second attempt is interuptable (but I doubt they knew that). As an additional bonus, any future mailboxes that are recreated or added with start with the message again. To this day, the best joke I've ever played.
So, take heed, don't mess around with the Message of the day unless you know what you're doing.
