We are using CallPilot for all our messages, one of which is a forced message that all callers must listen to. Heavy call volumes quickly eats into our 10 ports causing problems.

I have read about the Broadcast option within scripting but can not see how to use this with CallPilot or application builder

Any Ideas?

The scripting command is GIVE CONTROLLED BROADCAST followed with the voice segment information.

Voice Segments is the issue, how do I build these.

I tried the same treatment number as the IVR uses but this was not accepted.

I'm new to symposium so full help is appreciated

You have to have access ports in your Call Pilot that are integrated with the Symposium. Do you have these? If you look at your voice ports in configuration, voice ports have channel numbers assigned, GIVE IVR ports don't.

The voice segments are built through the appbuilder in Call Pilot.

We don't have channel numbers assigned, is this a maintenance fix or can I assign a channel?

With thanks

You can't just assign these; you probably should call your vendor out to do it and get them sync'd up. It does require a reboot of the Symposium and the Call Pilot; Config Wizard in your Call Pilot will need to be run with the changes, etc. GIVE IVR ports and access ports are actually two separate queues, so realize that you will be giving up some voice ports to dedicate them to access ports.

Sorry if these seem simple questions, but I have 4 channels reserved for voice messaging for the office phones, is it this I would use for Broadcast messages?

Those or you may be able to take some of your GIVE IVR ports away and use them for Access ports. You wind up playing with this a bit and seeing how these ports need to work in your system so that you optimize utilization on your ports.

Ok I think I'm getting there and thanks for the help so far, just need to find the documentation that tells me how to broadcast over those channels

These ACCESS ports need to be in a separate queue from your regular voice messaging, and separate also from Give IVR ports. If you are short on ports, you might want to convert all your Give IVR over to ACCESS. It is much more efficient, and would let you use them also for Broadcast messages.
This would take some re-recording and configuration changes (mostly noted by lretrievers), so would encourage you to get your vendor involved.
