Broadband / Fax Line - Unreliable

Hi Guys,

Trying to sort an Internet connection which keeps dropping.

I have found that the Internet connection drops when a fax is sent or received. The Fax Line is plugged into the same line used for Broadband.

I have tried swapping the router, this did not help.

I have also tried it with and without the ADSL filter, but with the filter it means a Fax can't be sent and without it the problem remains??

Any ideas??? Can you have fax and internet on the same line???

Have you called your service provider and asked about this issue? I would connect the fax to a standard phone jack and give it a shot.

Hi,

It was a simply problem in the end - a dodgy ADSL filter. Having replaced the filter, all is well!!
