Hello,
Today I am bringing a 2003 R2 server into my windows 2000 domain and promoting it to a DC.
At the moment the 2K DC that holds the FSMO roles also runs Exchange 2003, should I stop the Exchange services while I run Adprep?
Somebody said I wouldnt need to run adprep if exchange 2003 is already on it (the 2k DC), I believe you still have to run it as the adprep from exchange is slightly different from the R2 2003 adprep, am I right?
Having run both adprep's, joined the R2 machine to the domain and promoted it, will moving the FSMO roles off the 2000 DC running Exchange 2003 break anything?
I have done most of these things before, but never when an exchange server has been running on a 2000 DC, I have always kept Exchange on a member server, will do so again eventually. I'm being extra cautious.
Thanks for any help. Really appreciated.
Kind Regards,
D.
