I have a copy of GM 5.5 on Laptop "A" and have installed GM 6.5 onto Laptop "B." I would like import the codes/user defined fields (result codes, custom feild codes, custom stages, custom contact types etc.) I have setup in 5.5 on A to 6.5 onto B, no contact data is to be brought over as I will be starting this database over from "scratch."

I've looked for an import but couldn't find anything, I tried creating a blank database on A and opening on B but no codes come over. What's weird is that when I open the blank database on A the codes are there . . .

Does anyone have any experience with this or know of a link that I could use to read up on how to acomplish this? I've spend hundreds of hours developing these custom codes and can't beleive I couldn't bring them over with a blank database.

Sounds like the easiest thing would be to create a transfer set of the customisations of laptop A and then synchronise this into laptop B.

1.Goto File | Synchronise | Sync Wizard
2.Start a New Session
3.Create a Transfer Set
4.Place file somewhere obvious, e.g. Desktop
5.Select Customisations only in Send Record Types
6.Select All Contact records
7.Selet Ignore Cut Off date or put the date way back
8. This will create a file then retrieve this into the other laptop.

Thank you Rob for your suggestion, it worked . . . with one exception, not all the codes and field names came over. The majority did, and I’m ecstatic about that that, but I’d like try one more time and see if I can get everything across. I did the Sync. twice with the same result. Ran maint. on the database, nothing. There doesn’t seem to be a pattern, seems pretty random.

Any ideas? Thanks again for the help! - Larry
