Two things to comment on. Firstly, yes there are applications around that claim to recover deleted files from your HDD. I have never seen them work as well as they are advertised to do. Have a look at this one
Secondly, you should never just send an application to the recycle bin. You should uninstall it either via it's own uninstall programme or the Windoze one in Control Panel.
