brightstor 9/netware.....who knows?

hi,

someone can explain me how to submit a job on a netware 6 SP2 cluster (1.6)? I've E3034 error (but explanations of ca are not very clear...).
i use ip address of the cluster (in order to keep the interest of a cluster...but is it obvious for arcserve??)
And if you have more free time, here some questions:
1- how can i declare servers that arcserve don't see (agents run...) in backup option
2- what meens ca/novell recommandation :
tsa600 -cluster=on
3- do you know where can i find doc/books about brightstor 9 (submit a job....)

HI,


BAB9 for NW, has the ablility, to recognize the virtual server object (the cluster volume with the IP address)

Go to the NW services, thru the network, select the virtual server object, and submit the job to backup the cluster volume.

if u do this, u dont have to go thru any particular server, and the job will complete even if the cluster volume migrates to a different server.


you dont have to load TSA600 /cluster=off switch to backup the cluster volume, if u use BAB9 for NW..

that's my problem. arcserve can't log on the cluster (agents run on the nodes) and return e3034 error....
another idea?

Hello.
I have the same problem. Changen load-order in Autoexec.ncf fixed it. You must load cluster before SMSSTART.

After that i can backup virtuell servers. BUT.......
I can't do incremental backups. Alway FULL :-( and i run out of tapespace...

BAB9 also display wrong amount of data backed up. The numbers of files is OK, but on a 10GB volume it displays over 4 TB!?

ok thanks a lot, i'll try that solution.
i can't help you for incremental backup (i have already so much strange behaviours with full backup, i can't imagine with incremental...) just some advice maybe usefull : are you on NSS volume? did you apply the latest patch post NW6 SP2 for NSS volume? and i'll see that they are 2 patch for nwagent but i have not apply them yet....
If you find the problem, can you tell me please? i have the same problem but with full backup and NSS compression activate, that's different but it could be the same.
