The O.S. is Windows 2003R2 with BrightStor 11.5 SP1 installed. I am using an HP Ultra 320 SCSI controller with an HP StorageWorks Ultrium 960 Tape Autoloader.

In the Device Manager I have the Media changer installed as an Hewlett Packard 1x8 autoloader and the Tapestation as an Hewlett Packard LTO Ultrium-3 drive.

The Removable Storage service is disabled.

In BrightStor I have used Device Configuration to create an Tape/Optical library and restarted the tape engine.

The Device Manager is updating and after a while the status of all the slots is Dismounted eventhough there are three tapes present.

If I don't configure the Tape/Optical library then I am able to make an backup using an different Device Group with only the Ultrium tape drive configured.

What am I doing wrong ???

Library and tape drives need to be disabled from within the OS Device Manager.
