I am in need of the brightest yellow (on white background). Can anyone suggest a bright yellow PMS number? Thank you.

Is this a trick question? Use 100% of yellow ink.

No one can suggest a Pantone yellow any brighter than what you can find in your swatchbook.

Perfect answer from Jim above. How much more yellow can you get than 100%Y? There's no need for spot colours when CMYK will do.

All true. However there is the option of using a flourescent yellow for real punch !

You cannot create flourescent yellow with normal inks.
The flourescent effect is created when the pigment converts UV into visible light making the colour look brighter than it would normally. If you don't believe me, take a look at the local nightclub where you're bound to find a "black" light (UV) and you'll see how bright flourescent colours appear.
Normal colours from your printer or on your screen are not capable of responding to UV in that way.

Trojan.

If you're definitely looking for a spot (not sure about this whole flourescent thing above), take a look at your Pantone swatch... There's a yellow near the back that's pretty bright...
