Hello:

Is there a way to have a number ring on 5 or 6 phones and have the person who picked up the call be the only one allowed to talk to the person on the other end?
Currently I am using bridged appearances for this, but after a call is answered anyone can push the bridged appearance on their phones and join the conversation.

Thanks for your help

Danny

hmmm, maybe "data privacy" on the COS of the stations?

Also, under the system features page, there is the option to: Prohibit Bridging Onto Calls With Data Privacy? By default, it's set to No. There should also be another option to generate a tone if a person conferences in via the bridge (great for phones without a display).

I believe that u can also put a button on the phone for data privacy, but then u have to push the button every time.

You could also use a coverage answer group to do this. It would ring at all 5 phones, but when answered, no one else could access the line. It won't even show up on their phones. This would also allow you to receive multiple calls to this group at the same time. Just set up the original number as an x-ported station and assign it a coverage path. Then add a coverage answer group and put it as the first point in the coverage path. I used this for a PC help desk before and it worked great.
