is there a limit to the number of bridged appearances. I have a cust who wants to add DSS to approx. 9 stations and have them full of bridged appear. will the IP Office handle this?

The supported maximum is 10, ie. 10 bridged appearances to each individual call appearance so one over the 9 you require.

However your bigger problem may be that 9, if by DSS you mean 4450 DSS add-ons, only two per module are supported so you system will need at least four DS expansion modules (3 if the control module has its own DS ports).

that's what I was afraid of. They only have 1 DS module, but want to add (9) 4450 DSS to it. Do you know if external power help the situation (adding power supply to each phone that has a 4450 DSS)?

Each 4450 is supposed to have its own power supply anyway (typically an Avaya 1151B1), even if you only have one, that applies to whichever Avaya phone system you are on.

The issues restricting 4450's to 2 per module on IP Office were at the DS module end. The unit and the core software couldn't guarantee to drive that many lights simultaneously. Supposedly a lot of work has been done on this in 3.0 but as far as I'm aware the restriction still stands
