I need to know where I can obtain information that is sufficently detaied that will allow me to modify our current bricks level backup. My backup of users contains mailboxes of individuals who have left and I want to delete them. In the past when I have deleted the mail boxes, I get errors (E8604) in the activity log regarding those deletions. I assume that I must delete them from the bricks level, but do not have the knowledge of how too. Is there a good bricks level for dummies book? We currently run an NT 4.O systems with arcserve 6.61 and Exchange 5.5

After you disable\delete the user the mailbox for that user loses its integration with the Directory store.

Now that you are using Exchange 5.5 you have to run the
"Consistency Adjuster" on the Exchange Administrator.

THis will clean out delinked mailboxes..
Recycle the backup agent RPC server service...

Cheers

So it Shall be Written!
So it Shall be Done!!

Make sure that you have a full green box in front of the Individual Mailboxes. Otherwise the backup is static and if you remove a mailbox, ARCserve will still try to get every mailbox that was selected the day the job was submitted.
