I have approx. 700 recipients in my Exchange server with 52 public folders.

Each user, when logged into Outlook, can see only the public folders relevant to their department in the company.

When performing a brick-level backup, i can back up all the individual mailboxes perfectly, but for public folders, they are not even visible to ARCSERVE.

In order to make them visible to ARCSERVE i have to give the default user full access to all public folders, as suggested per

This is not a suitable resolution to this problem as confidential information from one department cant' be available to the other departments.

Can anyone help?

The Document you mention only allows the Backup account reviewer rights to that folder. This is purely a permission problem and is not related the ARCserve. The Windows account needs rights to perform the MAPI call.

This does not allocate rights to everybody only the backup administrator as the default setup over rides the administrator rights
