Breadcrumbs issue

Hi all,

I'm having a weird issue with my breadcrumbs. When I use the server name on the URL e.g.

http://servename/default.aspx,

the breadcrumbs work fine. However, when I use the actual name of the portal e.g.

http://myportal/default.aspx,

my breadcrumbs only work for certain pages and don't show the top-level sites example: instead of showing Home > Marketing > Sales; it only shows > Sales. Has anyone experienced a similar issue? Any suggestions?
