Hi,

Got a 6940 phone and trying to set a custom branding and screensaver. I've created the images to the correct spec and named them correctly, set the path to the images in the online service URLs on the MVB. Given the phone a reboot but nothing shows. Not sure what else I'm missing, any suggestions?

FYI - The path I've set for the branding is a internal IIS page I've created with all the images in one folder.

Thanks in advance

Guaranteed Star material for a how to if anyone figures this out and I don't have to.

I'm also interested in finding out how this is done. Would even be willing to pay to get the steps for it.

I have done them with manual upload not web server url

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Using an image editor, create a .png file containing the logo according to the instructions in the MiVB Help file under > Online Applications Update. Be sure to follow the sizing and Safe Area conditions for the image file. The tricky part is getting the image into the Safe Area, it may take a few tries.

Name the file Branding-69xx.png (substitute 20, 30 or 40 depending on which model the branding file is for) and then upload the file to the MiVB path > /db/HtmlApps/apps/xml. This worked for me. I have not tried a screen saver et.

screensaver is just 3 images correct size with any names inside a zip file

zip file naming is case sensitive

ScreenSaver-6920.zip
ScreenSaver-6930.zip
ScreenSaver-6940.zip
I use the New ESM menu option to upload the files

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Yes, it does in fact appear to be that easy.

On a side note, with respect to 53xx phones, does anyone know if there is a maintenance, console, or ESM command to activate the screensaver for the phone(s)

not sure what you mean kwb?

with 53xx you need to
package the branding and or screensaver

i use a batch file to create these
then upload to the pabx ( i just use filezilla )
then do a htmlappupdate maintenance command
then apply it per device ( and or user)

when its saved at this last stage the phone should recieve the new images
if you cant select it it hasnt been recognised ( try another html appupgrade or revisit the creation of the spx file)

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

I still believe you need to manually activate the screensaver from the phone though along with the timeout.

I believe Sarond is correct in that the screensaver is not active at the phone set until the setting has been changed. This is what I am looking for.

Also, based on my research, the htmlappupgrade command is no longer required.
Helpfiles - Phone Applications Update said:
NOTE: This form is an alternative to using the HTMLAppUpgrade maintenance command to update apps on 53xx IP phones.

I have gained the root password to the handset, all i want to do is upload a picture to over write the screen saver as i don't have access to the PBX (head office). Does anyone know on the handset itself which files are directory the images sit in? It's becoming quite an annoyance. also i will get into some trouble at work if i mess around to much as doing this covertly. thanks
