Hi,

Is there anyway of connect a branch office maybe lets said 10 ip phones via the WAN without having another gateway(Media Server/G700) on the remote site ?

If so, what are the things need for consideration ?

Thanks

The answer is yes.

Most basic would be to just install 10 phones in that office and have them point back to a CLAN or your 8300 (depending on your platform) in another site.

The other thing you may want to do is add a MultiVOIP they come in several different port counts. Let’s say you want a local line for 911 and a fax machine, then you could go with the 2 port. This device plugs into the network and connects to Communication manager just like an IP phone, you could configure one of the ports as a trunk then plug a POTS line in. Local users could use that POTS line to make calls (at least 911) and the phones can even have the IP address of the MultiVOIP as a secondary gateway, so if the WAN is down they can still at least make local calls.
Here is a link to the MultiVOIP
If course there is also the G150 which is pretty cheap about $1000 but it sounds like you don’t want to spend that much.

Don't forget about QOS on the network.... Key in any VOIP deployment.

Thanks,
