Hi.

Can anyone offer advice on this? I wish to become certified in Oracle DBA and Microsoft 2000. I came across Brainbench.com site to which I was thinking of getting certification thru the site. My primary question is that if I got ahead and obtain certification(s) thru Brainbench, does it carry the same or 'similar' weight as getting certified with Oracle and/or Microsoft venders? Has anyone gotten certified with them and found good success?

Thanks for your comments in advance.

Brainbench certs are toys. Fun to play with but of zero utility. No organization is going to put much weight in the Brainbench certs. Some might think they are nice but ultimately your best bet is the full-fledged vendor certs.

The main problem with the Brainbench certs is that since they are online it is impossible to determine who actually took the exam. It is all based on the honor system vs. Prometric exams that require at least some type of verification of identity.
