I have an issue that crops up from time to time at a customer i installed a long time ago
its a bcm 50 with call pilot
i believe it was the last release of the bcm50 family in terms of s//w

issue is every once in a while the night services come on without human intervention

what i THOUGHT i set it up for was services do NOT come on until they are done for the day and hit the services button
open for business - hit services button again

theres no "consistency" to when it does this....
any thoughts on where i can start poking around
(i have been negligent in getting this figured out, but its so infrequent i get the complaint, i keep forgetting about it..

any thoughts are appreciated
Thanks
rr

Release 6.0 was the final one. You might need to look in the services section. The fact that it happens on odd occasions makes me wonder if someone is manually activating Night service by the use of a feature key.

They might be pressing "Feature" 871. The Norstar / BCM manual shows codes from 870 to 873.

i'd probably think this was the case, but its been in service for years, and same 2 office staff (i.e. nothing has changed)

all i can go by is what they tell me....but they swear no one is accidentally hitting the services button i have programmed

is there a specific spot i can look to make sure the "services" is NOT following a "programmed schedule"
like "don't answer lines unless i physically press the button" sort of radio button
(its been a year or two since i've done any call pilot work, so my memory is foggy)

I think you can look at the programming via a telset, but it will be easier via Element Manager.

Try rebooting the BCM

I had one last week answering lines as if services was on.

I think "Firebird Scrambler" nailed it
I VPN'd in last night and the night services was set to Auto and i checked the open and closed for business
the closed for business was right around when they would have been hitting the NS button
give or take an hour

at least i think thats it, i changed it to manual and told them to be vigilant and watch it

its one of my last 2 BCM customers and the thing just works so i can't justify doing any sort of replacement or anything else, but trying to keep this Interface current in my memory is iffy sometimes

thanks for your help
