Anyway to only report on tapes currently in the silo via a command?

Or do I have to write a script for this?

I thought maybe bpmedialist would have an option

-rn <number> allows you to specify the robot number
-rt <type> allows you to enter the type of robot

But I don't know if these will help you or not.

Check out the man page on bpmedialist.
Do you have the NetBackup man pages added to you $MANPAGE definition?
If not then I suggest downloadin/copying the
"Commands for UNIX" or "Commands for Windows" manuals.
They contain most of the man pages you will need for scripting. You will find all of the NetBackup manuals on the installation CD or you can download them from symantec.

Just because the VERITAS documentation states something as certain, that does not make it a fact and that is truth.
