What's the best way to determine if you need to add more servers, (ie cache, page, job) to your system. a long time ago there used to be a program that you could get to monitor the usage of your server, instances run, users on the servers, how long they were on for etc. of course that was back when you could read the system tables easily...... whats the best way to do it now?

another question, can the input/output directories be put on another server that does not have any BO components installed or should the distribution server be used for something like that?
