You want the PDF file to be generated and viewed without the bookmark panel because it is not necessary and it uses up viewing space.

From within Acrobat the View->Naviagtion Tabs->Bookmarks turns it off (version 7 standard). I even tried turning this off in Acrobat and then saving it and reopening and the bookmarks still opened up. -k Upvote 0 Downvote
