Does this box make it fullscreen? When you create a Projector, you can go to an options menu before creating it. You can choose between having it fullscreen or not, just unckeck the fullscreen option.
Archerofloaf's answer is right on if you want your movie to appear in a "window" that is set to the size of the movie. This is probably the easiest way to fix it, but if you want to have your movie run at full screen, you have now come up against an age-old problem we have had since Director was called "Action 2.0"..... Although there are no true Macromedia answers to this, there are a few work arounds.
Some are Xtras that cost money to use and can be found on Macromedia's site.
Here are some other workarounds:
1. If at all possible, the simplest way is to have a black background, then no black line shows.
2. Create an stub projecter that is 1 pixel x 1 pixel then call your original director movie from this 1x1 movie through the MIAW command. This will make the box appear on the 1x1 movie (and virtually unseen to the naked eye) and your real movie will play full screen without a box... kinda convaluted, but we've been using it for years.
This "box" has been the topic of many frustrating conversations...
