I backed up following subdirectories (with fbackup):

/data/test/1
/data/test/2
/data/test/3
/data/test/4

all four subdirs had files also... (of course)

Now when I use frecover, i got all files, but ALL in ONE directory, no before existent directory is recreated...
--> frecover -f /dev/rmt/0m -i /data/test -xvF
I thought I'll c again the directories test/1, test/2, ... but no... all files in one... did I missed an option somewhere?

thnx

Hi Ratb,
Full detail of different options of frecover.

To recover files to original location:
# frecover -f /dev/rmt/0m -xov -i /source_directory

To recover files relative to the current working directory:
# cd /destination_directory
# frecover -f /dev/rmt/0m -xXov -i /source_directory

To recover all files under source directory to the present directory (all paths on tape will be ignored - leaving a flat directory structure):
# cd /destination_directory
# frecover -f /dev/rmt/0m -xFov -i /source_directory

To recover data from a remote tape drive use (the -f option must be used in this case):
# frecover -f laurel:/dev/rmt/0m -xov -i /source_directory

Hi ratbs75,

From memory, I think that you need to cd to the directory that you want to restore under, and then use frecover with the capital X switch also.
