I'm connected to a network printer HP LJ4050tn which works fine. However, when I try to print a Word document the bottom portion is blank, but not all the time! It could be any given Word document at any given time. There doesn't appear to be a pattern.

I'm using Windows XP, and MS Word 2003.

Can anyone help? I've been told that it is likely a printer driver problem. Is there anyway to confirm this?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

In my experience, that symptom is a driver problem. I have had this problem mainly with the Laserjet 5L/6L line. If you have not already done so, I'd recommend downloading the driver from HP. I usually start with the pcl6, then go to pcl5e, and finally PS. If you have trouble, I could get the driver to you in some way.
