I am attempting to load the BIT image tool from a USB CD-ROM (IoMega). I cannot get the BCM to load from this drive. I have even re-ordered the boot sequence in the BIOS with no luck. Nortel simply stated 'it works for us'. I have tried on 2 different BCMs with the same issue. The drive I am using is listed by Nortel as compatible and I did veify the drive/cables work when connected to my laptop. Also, i have no problem using the BIT tool from an IDE drive. Anything I am missing?

i also found out that not all usb to ide adapters work with the bcm. try using another one or simply use the IDE port inside the bcm.

We use the IDE port at the office. We were trying to get this to work so we could send a USB CD-ROM to site with our field techs and limit the margin of error. I mean, it's much easier to plug into the front of the BCM then to take the BCM off the rack, open it up, plug in your IDE ribbon (the correct way) and then boot up. I appreciate the info though, we are also working with Nortel on this. Thanks!!
