Idea Shower". An idea that's all wet.

We don't demote - we "transition" into a new challenge.

"Don't be irreplaceable. If you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted."

Idea shower was the one that stood out for me as well. It was supposed to replace brainstorm because brainstorm was politically incorrect, yet I find it amusing that I can find far worse interpretations of idea shower than of brainstorm! My boss said, "Yeah like I'd mention to HR that I just booked the conference room for an idea shower. I'd get fired."

"NOTHING is more important in a database than integrity." ESquared

How did brainstorm become an incorrect term? I haven't heard that until now.

From what I gather from the link, it has certain mental health connotations (i.e. the awful "retard"?).
Definitely new to me, too. It's pretty much used with reckless abandon at our shop.

Braaap! Medically, a brainstorm is a seizure. It is not a mental condition.

Brainstorm is probably more commonly used as a synonym for excogitation than as a medical term. The notion that this usage is somehow offensive is insane.

Latest one I heard is 'Intellectual Harvesting'. It's gonna be a lean year here, then!

I hate being 'tasked' with something too - can't you just tell me what you want me to do?

I want to be good, is that not enough?

Well said!

... and what an (in-)appropriate moniker you have for the topic!

Oh, I thought that brainstorm was politically incorrect because certain people, e.g. bosses, don't have the mental capacity for storms. Their brains are only capable of the occasional shower. [blush]

I hope thats not included in the "golden parachute".
When I have a conundrum, if the boss see's that I'm frustrated, he tells me to go "beerstorm". I do.
Then it will come to me, and the job gets done.
Then I get another beer![atom]
