Custmor requirement : My boss would like his phone route to me after 4-5 ring if he didn't answer it.
After the phone route to me, if I am not around, the phone will auto route back to his voicemail.

How we can reach to boss voice mail from secretary extension ?
How scretary's extension calls will hit to her own voice mail ?
 
You can do this with the COVERAGE PATH feature.
Each phone has it.

Before you begin, you will need to figure out what hunt is created for the voice mail.
Use the command: LIST HUNT and check if a hunt exists called "Voicemail" or "AUDIX".
Normally this should be hunt 99.

To make is easy: the boss has extension 2100 and the secretary has 2101.

You need to create 2 COVERAGE PATHS.
You do this with the command:ADD COVERAGE PATH NEXT (this will use the next free number).

For the Boss: make sure the settings are as below:

Press F3 when finished. Write down the coverage path number.

Create a new coverage paht for the secretary (ADD COVERAGE PATH NEXT):

Press F3 when finished and write down the coverage path number.
Now you need to change the station configuration.
Use the command: CHANGE STATION 2100 (for the boss)
Enter the coverage path of the boss in the field: COVERAGE PATH 1 as shown below:

Port: x Coverage Path 1: 4 COR: 1
Name: Boss Coverage Path 2: COS: 1
Hunt-to Station:

Note: only change the field COVERAGE PATH 1. Leave all the rest as it.
Do the same for the secretary (CHANGE STATION 2101) but make sure to add the 2nd coverage path number.

What will this do:
In case of the Boss:
Call will arrive at his station. If he does not answer the call the station will follow the coverage path. So it will send the call to the first Coverage point (secretary). If she does not answer the call, the call will be send to the 2nd coverage point (voicemail). As the system still knows the call was actually for the manager the call will be send to his voice mail account.

In case of the secretary:
Call will arrive at the station. When she does not answer, the call will follow the coverage path and will forward the call to the first coverage point (voice mail). So the call will be send to the secretary's voicemail.

That is how it's done.

Note: You can use the coverage path for the secretary for all station that only need to send un-answered calls to the users's voicemail. So you don't need to create each time a new coverage path.

However how do you have the call go to the Bosses mailbox? Also if the secretary answers the call, how can she send the caller directly to the bosses voicemail box?
 
There is a feature called "transfer to voicemail" that you can use to send calls to the voice mailbox of the principal (originally called) user.

Yeah, missed that one.
But you can do this by creating an AUTO-ATTENDANT in Audix.

These are the steps:
1. Create a station in the system (for example 4600). This can be an X station.
2. Give it the same coverage path as the secretary.

3. Login into Audix
4. Create a COS: CHANGE COS 2
5. Change the field PERMISSIONS - TYPE to "auto-attendant".
6. Press F3
7. Create the subscriber 4600 (ADD SUB 4600)
8. Change the field COS to Class02, give it a name and password.
9. Go to the next page (F7)
10. Change the field PERMISSIONS - TYPE to "auto-attendant"
11. Go to the next page (F7)
12. Now you need to define to what extensions the caller can transfer a call to. For example: You have extension range 1xxx, 2xxx and 5xxx
Put the next value at Button 1, 2 and 5:
Extension = e
Treatment = call-answer
13. Press F3
14. Now you need to create a new greeting for subscriber 4600, something like "Please enter the extension of the person you want to reach."
15. MAKE SURE TO ACTIVATE THE GREETING, very important

All done !!! :)

If the secretary receives a call from the boss and needs to transfer the call to the Boss voice mail, she can now hit Transer, then 4600 and then 2100 and transfer again.
The call will then go directly to the voice mail and the Boss phone will not ring.
