Boss called in today need to know if i could used procomm plus to communicate with a client, transfering or displaying file to a terminal and via versa.

I have no prior experience with Aspect hosting scripts, in fact, newbie to Aspect. With helps from the forum, i was able to dial-up a terminal, capture file and error checking. Now seem like i need to do more...

Questions:

What hardware is needed besides procomm box with a dial up modem?

Do i have to let procomm plus running the hosting script all day if no prior knowledge of calls coming in? Or any possible techique to detect incoming call then trigger the script?

The current set-up is used to dial in a terminal, capture file on screen and perform error checking, it's being called by windows scheduler on batch file. Can i use the existing setup to host? Can I run both script at the same time? if the hosting script has to let open 24 hours.

I need to customize the hosting script in the way user have to login, provide username, password, operator id, operator password and service. upon user transmit service request, file will be transfered or displayed on the screen. The built in script have to much extra, can someone get me start me hosting script?

any input is appreciated

Have you looked at the host script (host.wax) that ships with Procomm? This may fit your needs as-is, if not you can always modify the source code to your liking.

As for your other questions, all you need is the PC and Procomm to meet your needs, and the script will need to be running at all times.
