Boss and Assistant problem

I have a location BCM400 4.0
2 Assistants answer about 10-12 other peoples phones.
I have on each set.

1-appr & ring for each PRI DID call
1- answer DN for each (only get 8 max per set) for internal calls
1- internal adl key for them to see if the user is offhook on their set.

3 keys to do one job function.
should I be looking into SWCA keys? not sure if those would help

Maybe there is mor I can do ?

You could eliminate the Target Line appearances, because the Answer DNs will do internal and external calls. But you'll need Internal Autodial to see if they're on the telephone.

I think I read something about that changing answer DN's in the system to enhanced to view lines.

But with only 8 answer DN's per set they are still short a few lines.

Do they answer the other peoples phones all the time, or only as a backup?
How does the call flow work?
Do the assistants have KEM's?

They answer all calls all the time
They do have KEM's

call flow could be a DID call to a boss mans set.
I have it ring&appr on admin set and ring only on boss mans set
or
calls also come through the main ATT who then transfers the call to boss man but his admin picks up.

Basiclly she answers every type of call coming through for about 10 to 12 people. But I can only give her 8 answer DN;s.

They should of purchased a CSK1000 : )

Sounds like all you really need to do is get rid of the situation causing the need for Answer DN Keys.

If the assistants front end all calls to the boss, nobody should be calling the boss directly ... right?
Change the bosses DN's so nobody knows them except the assistants, this will stop internal calls directly to the bosses and you no longer need the Ans Keys.
Then you should really only need an internal autodial for each boss on each assistants set.

I agree.
I advised already but they want the best of both worlds.
They should just give the assistants DID out and not their own.

Have you think of doing using one hunt group per boss?
Make the test with one boss, have it's DN the HG01 dn,put another one to his physical phone and put the boss's name in the HG01 name.Program HG01 to ring only to the assistant, it should still always show the boss name when receiving a call either internal or external.Assign the boss target line to the HG01 and assign alternate extension in his mailbox(that is his new dn).Then you program his new dn as an internal autodial on the assistant phone.This way you should have only one button per boss on the assistant phone.
