Hi all,

I have one customer MICS 7.0 with few analogue trunks.
Operator is 221 & CEO is 222. All lines A/R on operator & 3 lines A only on CEO.
CEO doesnnt like to answer any call directly. His requirment is if some one call to 222 it should go to 221 & 221 can either transfer to 222 or cut the call.
Is it possible?

After the amount of rings you program to forward to 221 on, or you can put a Answer DN of 222 on 221 phone

He doesnnt like forwad no answer, whenever calls come,it should go through 221.
If I put answer DN of 222 on 221 phone, both phones should ring or only 221 will ring? If both phones ring he wonnt accept...
Appreciate your reply..

keep his phone forwarded then F4 to 221
i love ceo's that dont want to take calls or ck mailbox's

Am I missing something? since the lines only appear on ext 222 then you shouldn't have to do anything from the way they are right now, just have the ceo not answer the calls and let the receptionist answer the calls.

with most small systems they want to see the system square that is all lines at least appear on all phones to make it easier for transfers and calls out etc.

if the ceo is unable to not answer the calls then just remove the appearances on ext 222 and let the receptionist transfer calls to the intercom when the calls are for the ceo. you will have to give the ceo access to the line pool and train them on how to dial 9 for outside access also.

Agreed. Is the issue that people are dialing his extension through AA?

haden't thought of that, if it is just turn off the company directory so people cannot get to him that way and change him to another extension to stop people in the know.

Wonder what he means:
All lines A/R on operator & 3 lines A only on CEO

Does he mean all line ring at reception and the ceo has 3 private lines? or 3 of the main lines?

If they are main lines then tell them not to ring at his phone.
Why does the CEO have this issue but nobody else in the compmany?

that's what i'm saying he never said how many line to be exact
he could of had a privet or DID ringing CEO's pain in
I see it all the time

Thanks a lot for reply.
Actually problem is internal calls not external.
If someone call from another extention to 222,it shouuld go to 221.Then 221 answer the call & transfer to 222.
I cannt use F4 & forward no answar, Also this crazy guy doesnnt like voice mail.

So in other words, this CEO only wants a phone in his office for the sole purpose to call out on, and if so desired, the receptionist can transfer a call to.

Nothing else.

I would give this CEO another DN, and not give that DN out.
I would shut off the Appearance and Ringing on his set. Leaving just his DID, or if he doesn't want to even answer his DID - redirect the target line it to the Receptionist too.

This unknown DN then in turn will never be known to the public or even the staff. Create a BLF/DSS on the receptionists set for his new DN so she can transfer calls to him. Since he does not want voicemail there is no way of locating him on the company directory then either!

also change the name so that the DN dose not appear on calls.

Might be a better idea to leave a name on the set, so the extension number doesn't appear. One way or the other, it should be enough for him to tell people not to call him internally.
