Hi-

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I just had a basic question about Borland C++ Builder.

I currently do C++ programming in XEmacs, but I am thinking about purchasing the "Borland C++ Builder 6 Personal" because I've read many good reviews on it and at $70 it's a reasonable price.

Does this come with decent documentation and tutorials? If not can you recommend any books with tutorials and examples to help pick up using Borland C++ Builder 6 Personal?

Also, How does this product compare to "Microsoft Visual C++ .NET Standard 2003"?

Thanks!

Hi There,

I'm known as Amanda Dearheart on where I contract much of my programming work. I use C++ builder primarily for many of my projects. I'm just now completing a Star-Map Maker program for one of my clients.

The best place to find advice for the boralnd products is the Borland newsgroups, which is an online forum on Borland's website that is similiar to Tek-Tips. they are free to participate in as well.

The major difference is that they deal speicifically with Boralnd products, C++ builder, Delphi, C# Builder, JBuulder, etc.

The programmers there are very helpful with advising newcomers to their products.

Hi Villain,

$70 might seem a good price, BUT:

The personal edition is not intended for distributing programs. Every program written in PE is for personal use only.

I've also given away $70 :-(
