installed Borland C++ 5.5. three icons are in the folder, Blowup, CODE_UPLOAD1408 and freecommandlinetools. doubleclicked BLOWUP icon and large dark screen comes up. If falls off after about 3 secs and i get this message- C:\....\...\BLOWUP.PIF invalid program file name. please check your PIF file.- appreciate any help to fix BLOWUP.PIF. the same thing happens if i double click CODE_UPOAD1408 icon.

I seem to recall that the free download version was command line only?

I may be wrong on this though.

No, it is commandline only. What I don't remember is if it puts any icons in the Start Program button. I didn't think so. Sounds very wierd. xlav, have you checked your system for viruses and spyware?

ran Ad-aware and Norton antivirus. found a trojan, ByteVerify virus, etc. cleared faults but still get message to check .PIF file when i doubleclick Blowup icon. 2 other blowup files show up during unzipping Blowup and CODE_UPLOAD1408 icons, BLOWUP.COM and BLOWUP.C but they seem to be ok. no icons in Start Program button.
