I have to set up alert configuration via both email and tng trap on about 40 servers. I have worked out how to script submitting the jobs (arcbatch) but have not figured out any way to automate or replicate settings for the other steps of the process ie:
- setting up a mail profile to the arcserve mailbox on ecxhange
- setting the alert service account and mail options
- setting the tng trap and email notificaitons for the 'default' option. (our backup job includes 4 x default notifications for failed, cancelled etc,.)
I am thinking that with TNG and Arcserve being enterprise products they must have built in a mechanism to set up and configure multiple servers?!! Does anyone know of one??
I dream at night of a console where you select all the ASO servers, tick what options you want and go OK - but I know this is just a dream...
