Dear Gurus,

I've just started building a website for a friend.

I want it to look like this:-

However, it currently looks like this:-

I have used the faux columns technique from a list apart, however I have a few issues:-

1) I wanted to create white borders at the top and bottom of the content div. I have achieved this by using additional divs, however I'm there must be a neater way of acheiving this.

2) In FF the birkbeck logo is clearing the text in the left hand div. I don't want this - I want to position the image using vertical-align = bottom (unless there's a better way to do it?).

3) I seem to have box model issues in IE6, however I am only using margins (no padding or borders). What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Toby

Update

I have received some help and resolved both 1) and 3).

The only remaining issue I have is that the logo is still clearing the text in the left-hand div (and in IE it is slightly poking out of the div, for some reason).

Cheers,
Toby

Update

(Thanks for all your help).
