Greetings...

We are running a Novell BorderManager 3.7 server with Surfcontrol.

I am unable to visit the windowsupdate.microsoft.com website through our proxy server, and the message

"Thank you for your interest in Windows Update
Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer.
You must be running a Microsoft Windows operating system in order to use Windows Update." came up.

At 1st, I thought the HTTP User agent header details weren't sent through the firewall, so we patched the server to the latest patch levels with the latest Surfcontrol support packs etc..This cured the agent header issue, but we still couldn't get to the windows update site.

Another issue with Hotmail appeared, in that when you visit the website. Upon entering the username and password, we are presented with ...
"
- Browser Limitations
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Web Browser Software Limitations
Your Current Software Will Limit Your Ability to Use Hotmail
Hotmail supports the following web browsers:
Microsoft Internet Explorer - version 4.0 or higher.
Netscape Navigator versions 4.7 and higher. "

By clicking on the Continue button we can use hotmail as normal, with the exception of the file attachment feature when composing a new email. This is very peculiar and has baffled me a great deal....

By the way, we have the latest Internet Explorer browser version with support packs installed....

I hope someone can shed some light! Thanks in advance!!!
