I work for a printing company and we print on a variety of machines. Regardless of making sure that documents have no gutters, margins, etc. there is always a 1/4 - 1/2 inch margin left when printing and we can't figure out how to fix it. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be great. Thanks.

...most inkjet and desktop printers don't print to the edge of the sheet size you are printing on, some output devices do offer borderless printing. If you have artwork that bleeds off the sheet you will therefore need to print to a larger paper sheet to fit the whole image...

The reason most printers cannot print right to the edge, is because the rollers need something to grip to pull the paper through. That area cannot also be printed on. The usual way round it is to trim off the excess paper after printing (on a sheet size larger than the layout).
