To anyone,

I have a problem booting up my HP system (runs HP-UX 11.0).

I got this message:

"Configuring all unconfigured filesets...", then it hanged.

What should I do? Do I need to re-boot it again & again? Sorry, 'just don't know what to do. I don't have my bootdisk.

Thank you in advance.

Had you tried to install a software package previous to the reboot?

nope.

basically, i just got this machine from other group and i want it running. after that, i can install packages of my choice.

the former owner of the machine no-longer exist but i do have the right password.

Cleo002,

It could possibly be that a change was made to the system prior to you assuming responsibility of it and some sort of kernel change has occurred but a reboot never took place. Now that the system has been rebooted it may be having a problem with the new kernel that is configuring new filesets.

I would try to boot up to the PDC menu and specify to boot up on the primary device but you want to 'Interact with IPL'. I would then try to boot up on a previous kernel. If you don't know what previous kernels may exist on the system you can type 'hpux ll /stand' at the ISL prompt to see if any pervious kernels are on the system.
