Bootp on Solaris 8 not working

I can't get bootp on our Sol 8 server to function properly. I've checked the bootptab file and it's ok, the services are in the /etc/service file and when I check ps, bootp daemon is running, yet when I point our device (router) here, it never grabs the file and uses it.

Any hints or ideas would be great. If someone needs more detail, I'll post it (I didn't want to get into a long router config issue here).
