I have installed Mandrake 8.2 hoping it would clear up a few problems I had previously with 8.1.

The installer installs a 'bootloader' which I don't need as I have installed on a separate hard drive to win98se.

At present when I boot this drive I get a message saying 'Stage 1' but nothing else. I assume this is the first stage of the bootloader. Nothing else happens.

Does anyone know how to remove the bootloader or fix this problem?

Thanks,
Leon.

use fdisk /mbr to remove the boot loader.
this what i can say coz i have no experience with two hard drives.

Thanks, I will try that.

Never get these problems with Windows and Macs! Hope it's all eventually worth it.

Thanks,
Leon.
