im want to set up a software raid 0 array from 2000. is there any way to make the boot partition with the os part of the raid array or does it have to boot to a normal partition in order to see the raid array? thanks.

Our win2000 server, runs off a RAID array, but for it to do that we had to clean install and press f6 at the start, and then we had to supply RAID drivers for the OS to know what it was actually looking at... does this help or am I barking up the wrong tree??

I would boot to the SCSI adapter (hardware) and have the OS boot partition on the RAID. If the BIOS of the server can handle booting to SCSI controller than you do not need to load 3rd party drivers from within the windows 2K install.

Booting to SCSI makes RAID level booting nice!!

cowboy: im not sure i understand what your saying. how do i get the machine to boot a partition on the raid array if the array is controlled by win 2k? i dont have a hardware raid array.
