I've got a Prolient 5500 with a 5302 RAID controller.
The RAID controller is connected to the 5500's simplex drive cage.
I've got one 9 gig drive in the cage which is configured as a RAID 0 volume. It is my system partition, has the OS (win2k on it) it is the boot drive and located at ID 0.
I have 4 18 gig drives in the cage, at ID's 1,2,3 & 4, as a RAID 5 array.
What I would like to do it put my 9 gig boot drive at ID 6 and have my 4 18 gig drives at IDs 0,1,2,3; this is simply to keep them all in line down the left hand side of the cage. (at the moment 3 of the 18's are on the left and one on the right).
When I move the 9 gig boot drive to ID 6, the system will POST without a problem, but when Win2k attempts to boot, the drive fails (orange light comes on).
If I take the 4 18 gig drives out, the system will boot perfectly with the 9 gig drive in any position.
