Has anybody ever been able to boot a BCM400/3.7 from the USB port? I have been attempting to create a bootable USB thumb drive for the BCM with the BIT imaging software loaded on it, no luck. I was just curious if this was possible.

it works for me. i've created a BCM 3.6 and 3.7 re-image dvd that can be booted via IDE or USB DVD-ROM.
find the bootimage at: ftp://ftp.etkn.de/pub/bcm/usbboot

i've used nero 6 (and also 7) to create the bootable dvd

I appreciate the info and the file. One problem, Nero does not recognize the image file. Am I doing something wrong? I probably should be on a Nero messageboard at this point!!!

open a new project and select "bootable dvd" (or CD if you like)
then you will see an option for adding a bootimage

by the way: the contents of the DVD should be:
ghost.exe
sidchngr.exe
and the image files

I feel like I'm missing something. I see what you are talking about, but Nero asks for a .ima file and the image file on the ftp site is a .img file. I tried renaming to a .ima but then there was nothing on the CD after Nero completed the burn. I am using Nero 6 if that matters.

this file will only make the cd bootable and install usb cd-rom drivers for DOS, it does not add any content to it. you still need to add the bcm image files and the other two exe files i mentioned above.
