Booting 5.2 with ascii term only

I am unable to boot AIX 5.2 CD's on pseries b80 or 630 when using ascii console only.(no graphics) Hangs at c45. Anyone out there had this problem or a solution? I have tried all serial ports separately or all together. It has worked once with ascii on s1 only. Not reliable though. Using IBM 3151 and 3153's.

Hanging on 0c45 means that the cfgcon-command failed for any reaseon. So the machine is unable to determine the console.

First suggestion: Check firmware of cdrom. Will investigate further..

Updated machine firmware but have not looked at cdrom firmware. Will do and let you know.

CDROM Microcode upgrade from 1_02 to 1_06 fixed this problem. Thanks for your help!
