OK, I know it means I want to install the evil empire OS, but I wanted to ask all the MAC experts if you really need to "install" the Microsoft OS when using BootCamp??
Reason I ask is I am looking at the MacPro hardware platform (waiting for Leopard) but I really need to bring over my PC stuff (got too many $$$ invested in programs and licensing). I would prefer to fully restore XP onto the MAC instead of reinstalling it.

You have to install XP. Once that's done, in theory, you could blast an image of another XP load over the installation, but then you'd be mucking with incorrect drivers and a slew of other registry changes.

thanks Bronto... I later realized you got to have an OS to restore to, but was hoping for an easy way out. Got to dig up the old CD's now. Ant the registry issues would probably be a real pain, so a fresh core install would be best, then restore the apps and such after
