I want to get extra compact disk cards to make additional copies of the database backup. Do I have to format the CF card and does it have to be a bootable CF. How would I do it?
Thanks in advance,
Stu

You can get the required software and needed tools from the Avaya site (Not sure if you need a contract). You need to run a special tool to make the CF bootable. You can't just copy the files.

If you only require a CF card for backups, then I think you can get away with a mininum of a 32 Meg card. It doesn't need to be a bootable card and I thought that FAT was still the standard format.

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Mmmmm didn't had any coffee this morning...

Firebird is right. For backups you do not need a special CF card. Avaya supplies a 128Mb CF card just for backups.

You could also have a look at remote backups. I know it is possible in rls 6, but maybe it's also available in rls 5.5. The CS1000 can make external backups using (S)FTP to and external server. It's even possible to maintain multiple backups on the external server (FIFO).
