bootable cd

having issues creating a bootable cd under sco 5.0.6,
used mkisofs to create the iso9660 fs in the file bootcd.iso
mkisofs -r -b boot/boot.img -c boot/boot.catalog -o bootcd.iso .
the system displays a bootable cd in the cd drive but doesn't boot.
gives error "insert disk operating system"
has anyone made a bootable image of SCO on a cd ?
