Probably the battery that keeps the CMOS chip alive has , or is, giving up. Depending on what type of battery is installed on the motherboard this is an annual event or a 3 to 4 year event.
Earlier boards used a soldered in battery that could be disabled and an external plugged into the board. Later boards us a coin battery, about the size of a nickle, that fits into a holder. If the latter, it is easily replacable, just get the right size, replace it and reset the CMOS values it takes to run. Replacing the battery is the ONE thing you can do while the system is hot.
Boot it up so everything is working, and carefully remove the battery. Dont' drop it! Go get new one, and replace. All settings will be kept, instead of removing the battery while the system is off, and you'll lose all your BIOS settings.
