Boot to Terminal Server with fat client

I'm in the process of planning a terminal server (no Citrix) - does anyone have a good way to boot directly to a terminal server using a fat client? I want to use our current old desktops that are in place, and just boot to the TS login screen.

I'd like to format the hard drive and have minimal software if any on the drive for booting. Perhaps I'm missing something - this seems like it would be simple, but I can't find much for boot software that will do this.
