After the hardware check, and before windows splash screen, there is always a dos looking screen, with old info that appears. Is there any way to get rid of the info on this screen, or to eliminate it?

That stuff is information about what windows is loading in your AUTOEXEC.bat file. Firstly, why do you want to remove it? Secondly, I don't think you can anyway. :)

An additional possibility is some BIOS dump of info or from an expansion card BIOS.
Does it come up with a floppy boot to DOS?
You can get rid of anything, just may require a long time to find it and replace it with blank stuff. Ed Fair

Any advice I give is my best judgement based on my interpretation of the facts you supply. Help increase my knowledge by providing some feedback, good or bad, on any advice I have given.

If it's information loading from the autoexec.bat file, you should be able to stop this from displaying by editing your autoexec.bat file and add, as the first line:

ECHO off

Hope this helps.
