Boot Rom! Check Sum! what the heck

When ever I boot my pismo it doesnt boot. It occationally goes to the Apple hardware test CD but usually not.
When I get to the Hardware test CD it says it doesnt detect the logic board. If it doesnt detect the logic board then how did it boot in the first place?
If I use the Software restore and the software install CDs then I get the open firmware window.
I have tried the normal things, ie reset-all, reset-nvram, and such to no avail. Someone help me!
